Why does the Chine’s government feel the need to prohibit Tibetan Religious Practices?

What are the religious practices of most of the Tibetan people?

Many of the Tibetan people at one point were practicing Buddhist’s however due to chines involvement that number has decreased it used to be that 1 in 8 men was a monk and that has drastically changed.

There is not a lot of information on just mainland china’s religious tendencies but there are laws in place that prohibit some not specific religious tendencies. overall the main statement is that different forms of Buddhism are the more popular religion.
Why does China hold power over Tibet?

China does not want to break up it’s massive monopoly because if Tibet leaves the other provenances will probably also leave. There is not actually a lot of information on this which is very interesting.

What religious practices in Tibet in particular disagree with the China’s government?

Sky burial! They are more accepting now then they used to be but still the persecution of monks is a problem and the exile of the Dalai Lama.

What do China’s restrictions mean to Tibetan religious practices?

The intimidation that China is using is causing big problems in monasteries. Making the burial  of the Dalai Lama beyond the border so that the chine’s government picks the new Dalai Lama.

  1. Dayle, I think it's good to keep yourself in the line of questioning as you go. This will help you narrate your process of thinking. The FQ being something like "what can I learn about why China's gov't feels the need to prohibit Tibetan religious practices."

  2. 1. Does China's rule stem back to religious differences or the government?
    2. Would Tibet be able to support them selves as their own country if they didn't have china?
