1. Some things to watch out for in doing research:
- Where is the information coming from?
- Is the source credible?
- Is the information verifiable?
- What other ways can you research besides the internet?
- Does the source cite sources?
- Is it a primary or secondary source? Would using or looking at the primary source lend you more credibility? Would you understand your topic better if you did?
- If you're not successful with a search, trying using synonyms
2. See if you can answer these questions:
- Where did the concept of racism come from?
- What is racism?
- Who benefits?
- How many people are in prison in the united states? Of those, how many are minorities?
- What percentage of americans are in jail? How does that compare to apartheid South Africa?
- How does that compare to Montana?
- According to the last census, what is the ethnic break down of the population of Montana?
- How does the average salary compare across ethnicities in Montana and in the United States?
