I was not looking forward to this class. My writing has always been mediocre at best. I didn’t enjoy writing. This writing class was different then any other writing class that i have ever taken. I was not used to coming up with ideas and slowly wading into writing a complete draft. There was limited stress in this class for me. Having a free write at the beginning of each class gave me a bases to draw from for that evening homework. Writing an essay became simple steps but creative enough that they never got boring. My writing has improved because of this class.
I never talk about my self in essays.This class definitely put me out of my comfort zone when it came to this. In every paper I wrote The word I was a must. Through this struggle I learned that there is a place for I in a paper and that I can strengthen a paper by bringing the reader into the story by relating to them.
I have become a better revisor in this class both on my own papers and on others. The process once horrible is now a game coming up with creative ways to state something or find the one error in a wonderful essay that is not perfect.
I have grown in my style of writing through this class because I now have a strong foundation to write any paper from and I hope that this portfolio shows both my growth as a writer and an editor.
