- Listen to a brief description of ways to outline.
- Outline your essay in two different directions. Be sure to use a sentence to describe each point of your outline. An example of outline follows:
- Hook: Imagine having your native language on the brink of disappearing
- Situation/Overview: Many indigenous languages have been lost and more are on the brink
- Language as a carrier of culture/ models/scripts of action.
- Thesis: Its time schools embrace teaching indigenous languages through new models of learning in both highschool and college level to help combat this trend.
- The case of Blackfoot here at U of M.
- The problem with following european models of teaching language.
- The case of Arapaho.
- My experience in the course.
- The need to follow indigenous models.
- Conclusion: The importance of acting on this, what we lose when we lose these languages.
