Free Write for Tuesday 4/17

1. Listen to a brief description of ways to outline.
2. Outline your essay in two different directions. Be sure to use a sentence to describe each point of your outline. An example of outline follows:
1. Hook: Imagine having your native language on the brink of disappearing
2. Situation/Overview: Many indigenous languages have been lost and more are on the brink
3. Language as a carrier of culture/ models/scripts of action. 
4. Thesis: Its time schools embrace teaching indigenous languages through new models of learning in both highschool and college level to help combat this trend.
5. The case of Blackfoot here at U of M.
• The problem with following european models of teaching language.
6. The case of Arapaho.
• My experience in the course. 
• The need to follow indigenous models.
7. Conclusion: The importance of acting on this, what we lose when we lose these languages.
